(Echinops Ritro)
Echinops is a bold statuesque plant with steel blue, globular flowers on strong stems. Very striking.
The spherical blue flowers, made up of many tiny florets, appear in late summer.
Sun and good drainage are preferred. Will grow in poor soils. Use with other perennials. Suited to cottage or Mediterranean style gardens. Flowers are good for cutting and drying.
An easy care plant in all but wet soil. Cut to the ground after flowering to produce fresh leafy growth.
Regular applications of Seasol and Power Feed will keep it looking its best.
Codes are a guide only and watering requirements will be affected by soil type, competition, mulching, wind and many other factors. Try to group plants with the same code in the one bed.
